Brain Damage

A serious head injury can be devastating resulting in brain damage.

The amount awarded depends on factors like life expectancy, the degree of insight, the risk of epilepsy and the level of physical or cognitive disability.

The highest awards require very severe physical limitations and a significant impairment of intellect and personality and the lowest awards are usually appropriate where there has been a good recovery but there may still be some minor ongoing problems with concentration and memory that don’t impact on work or lifestyle.

Compensation amounts vary according to the severity of Brain Damage.

Very Severe - £165,000 to £235,000

Moderately Severe - £27,250 to £165,500

Moderate - £25,000 to £127,250

Minor - £9,000 to £25,000
